First Annual ‘Rare Beer Auction’ To Be Held In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA – Brewers from all over California are digging deep into the far crevices of their cellars to bring some of their most extraordinary, rare, and treasured beers to the public for the first annual “California Rare Beer Auction” to be held at the Rubicon Brewing Company in Sacramento on Saturday, September 10th.

These beer offerings are typically only known within a small circle of brewers and beer enthusiasts, and most have never been available to the public before. Proceeds from this silent auction will benefit the California Small Beer Association and the Northern California Brewers Guild – two important organizations that support and protect the California craft beer industry.

Just some of the items being auctioned include a brandy barrel-aged Winter Scotch Ale from Iron Springs Brewery, a Sierra Nevada Dogfish Head collaboration Life and Limb #2, only a small handful of bottles signed by Ken and Sam, a 2009 Sea Monster Imperial Stout from Ballast Point, a trio of vintage beers from the Port Brewing Veritas collection, a vertical flight of 2011, 2010, 2008, 2006, 2003 and 2000 Bigfoot Ale, and much, much more!

The bbq will be fired up on the Rubicon patio and, of course, a wide variety of beer will be available on draft. There is no admission fee, so come on down and head home with a beer that no one else will have ever seen before!

The California Small Brewers Association is the state trade association and acts to protect the political and legal rights of the California craft brewing industry.

The Northern California Brewers Guild’s mission is to promote the common interests of their members and the licensed craft brewing industry in Northern California.
