Dogfish Head Brewery has added two more states to its distribution footprint. The Delaware-based craft brewery, known for its popular 60 Minute and 90 Minute IPAs, will begin shipping beer to Alabama and the Twin Cities metro area of Minnesota later this month.

Beginning March 6, Dogfish Head’s full portfolio of beers will arrive in Alabama via a trio of wholesalers: Gulf Distributing, Supreme Beverage Company and Premium Beverage.

“The craft beer scene is taking off in the southeast and there are a ton of beer lovers throughout the state,” Dogfish Head CEO and founder Sam Calagione said in a press release. “We have our new canning line pumping out beer and enough brewing capacity to ensure we can keep retailers well stocked with our off-centered, well-differentiated family of beers and are ecstatic that Dogfish Head fans hailing from Alabama can finally enjoy their favorite brews in their home state.”

Then, on March 27, Dogfish Head products will land in the Twin Cities market through multi-state wholesaler Breakthru Beverage, which already distributes the brewery’s beers in Delaware and Colorado.

“The Breakthru Beverage team is thrilled to help lead the introduction of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery into Minnesota,” Breakthru Beverage Group EVP of Sales and Marketing Kevin Roberts said in a press release. “Sam Calagione is a modern day trailblazer in the beverage industry – stretching the boundaries on quality, creativity and bringing culinary thinking into the brewing process.”

“We’re excited about teaming up with Breakthru Beverage, a family-owned company that shares the same commitment to quality and as we do at Dogfish Head,” Calagione added.

Dogfish Head also expects to open at least two more states in 2017, which would put the company’s beer in 35 states as well as Washington, D.C. To support that expansion, Dogfish has tripled the size of its sales team.
