Maui Adds Massachusetts, New York

After teasing broader East Coast distribution in September, Maui Brewing has officially expanded its reach throughout Florida, New York and Massachusetts, the company announced Tuesday.

”For years we have fielded request after request to get our beer into the hands of Florida and New England drinkers and we are happy to announce that the time has come,” Scheider Maui’s national sales manager said in a statement.

The Hawaii-based craft brewery, which expects to produce upwards of 40,000 barrels in 2015, signed with Sheehan Family Companies in New york and Atlantic Imports in Massachusetts. In late October, the company announced its intent to expand in Florida, where it signed with Cavalier Distribution.

“With the addition of six more 250-barrel fermenters from Marks Design and Metalworks, we’ll grow capacity to just shy of 100,000 barrels annually,” brewery founder Garrett Marrero said in the release. “This not only gives us room to grow craft beer production but sets us up for the new distillery operation as well.”

Fremont Brewing to Launch in Oregon

Seattle’s Fremont Brewing is making its first significant foray outside of Washington, extending its relationship with Columbia Distributing to include Oregon, the company announced today.

“We’ve had a lot of good response for our beer down there,” Matt Lincoln, Fremont’s director of brewing operations told Brewbound. “Moving into Oregon and having a nice strong partner in Columbia to go down there with was definitely part of the idea.”

Founded in 2009, Fremont plans to sell about 27,000 barrels in 2015. nearly all of that of those sales are concentrated in Washington, the company said, with only a few out-of-state placements in Denver and Northern Idaho.

Brewery co-founder Sara Nelson said Fremont would initially launch draft packages this month and begin its “off-premise imitative” in January.
