Diamond Knot Craft Brewing Kicks Off 3rd Annual ‘Coats for Kids’ Drive

Diamond Knot Brewing Co.MUKILTEO, WA - Diamond Knot Craft Brewing kicks off their 3rd Annual “Coats for Kids” donation program to benefit the children of Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County.

“As a local business, it is important for us to support our community. We challenge our customers to help us continue that support and beat last year’s donation,” said Bob Maphet, President.

Last year Diamond Knot was able to donate over $3100 to help the children of domestic violence stay warm. Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County is a private, non-profit organization that provides a safe and secure emergency shelter while providing services for victims of domestic abuse. Most of the women and children staying at the shelter arrive with very little and often without the basic necessities.

As we have already experienced, this winter is going to be cold and wet, so in an effort to help these families Diamond Knot Craft Brewing is collecting donations to purchase warm coats and winter clothing. Our goal is to raise enough money that each child staying in the shelter has a warm coat and hat this winter. It does not take much; just a few dollars can go a very long way to help a child in need.

“This initiative is a great opportunity to continue our history of giving back to our local community which has supported us for over eighteen years,” said Pat Ringe, Brewmaster.

To make your donation go even further, Diamond Knot Brewing Co. will match all donations dollar for dollar. Donations will be accepted December 3rd through December 20th, at all Diamond Knot locations in Mukilteo and Camano Island, Washington. Help make a child’s holidays special and to keep them warm this winter.

Good for you Diamond Knot! I wear many hats in this life and two that are very near to my heart are good Kraft beers, and the other is doing everything I can to try to help out or protect the children in this world. I think this is a great project and I hope it gets media attention. Getting a positive message to the children before they become adults themselves is the key to solving this crisis. Interestingly enough Tony Robbins was Tweeting about this this morning. He tweeted about CDV.org and posted a gripping video of the reality these children face. The sound bite is of an actual 911 call. It had me in tears.

These are excellent practical tips, not simply for major innovations but also for individuals who are seeking to influence others on more mundane matters.
