CORONADO, CA – You can’t think of Coronado Island without the image of pristine beaches and amazing ocean views coming to mind. Since 1996, the island’s namesake brewing company has been producing award-winning suds and embodying the island lifestyle. It was only fitting that Coronado Brewing would team up with the Surfrider Foundation San Diego County Chapter to come out with a refreshing ale, just in time for a summer at the beach. Coronado Brewing is set to release its newest charity collaboration, Surfrider San Diego Summer Ale on May 6.

Over the last decade, Coronado Brewing and Surfrider San Diego have built a strong relationship. This past year, the foundation named Coronado Brewing as their 2015 Business Partner of the Year. ” We were thrilled when the idea came about to work with one of San Diego’s top brewing companies on this new Summer Ale,” said Mark West, Surfrider San Diego Chair. “It serves as a great opportunity to raise funds and awareness around our foundation as well as develop an incredible beer with our friends at Coronado Brewing.”

“Partnering up with Surfrider San Diego was a no-brainer,” says Ron Chapman, chief executive officer and co-founder of Coronado Brewing. “The coast is what we’re all about. We love our oceans, so it makes sense for us to give back to a foundation that is dedicated to protecting them.”

A bright, slightly hoppy beer, Surfrider San Diego Summer Ale is made for the coastal lifestyle. Using hops from New Zealand, Australia, and the US combined with Australian ‘Coopers’ yeast strain; this beer delivers crisp fruity flavors with a sweet, bready finish. It’s a smooth summer swell in a bottle.

A portion of all proceeds will go directly to the Surfrider San Diego Chapter and help to protect our oceans, waves and beaches. The beer will initially be released at Surfrider San Diego’s annual Art Gala taking place May 6th. This beer will be available in San Diego only.
