Coronado Brewing Company Launches Stingray IPA in Cans

San Diego, CA — Coronado Brewing Company’s award-winning Stingray IPA is now available for the first time in cans. The can launch is a continuation of the company’s brand refresh that kicked off earlier this year; highlighting the company’s coastal lifestyle and San Diego roots. Stingray IPA is the company’s fourth year-round offering in cans, following the release of Islander IPA, Orange Avenue Wit, and Easy Up Pale Ale earlier this year. The company is releasing Stingray IPA in 12-ounce can six-packs, in addition to 12-ounce bottles and on draft.

While Coronado Brewing Company continues to grow as a global brand, the cofounders are adamant about staying true to its local roots. “A big part of living in San Diego is getting outside, and being close to the water. Cans are the perfect extension of that lifestyle, allowing us to take beer where we couldn’t before,” said Rick Chapman, President & Cofounder, Coronado Brewing. “We are excited to see consumers enjoy cans of Stingray IPA in in their favorite places.”

Stingray IPA is an easy-drinking Imperial IPA brewed with a blend of Citra, Mosaic, Southern Cross and Simcoe hops, for a ripe, tropical fruitiness. Since the brand was first introduced in 2015, it has gained a cult-like following as well as critical acclaim, including a recent Gold medal at the U.S. Open Beer Championship. “Stingray IPA is one of our fastest-growing brands, and that, coupled with increased consumer demand for cans, is a great combination,” said Brandon Richards, VP Sales & Marketing, Coronado Brewing. “While a bulk of our sales continue to be in the traditional bottle format, we have seen a huge increase in cans and we don’t foresee that trend slowing anytime soon.”

Stingray IPA will be available beginning early July in 18 states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Wisconsin, Florida and Rhode Island. About Coronado Brewing Company

In 1996, when craft beer was still a foreign term and San Diego County was home to only a handful of breweries, the Chapman brothers Ron and Rick opened a brewpub in their hometown of Coronado. Today CBC stays true to their San Diego roots, brewing abundantly hoppy West Coast-style ales, which are available today in 18 US states and twelve countries. In addition to the long-established pub in Coronado, the company opened a tasting room inside their newly built San Diego production facility in early 2013, and a tasting room and restaurant in Imperial Beach, California in 2014. Coronado Brewing Company was honored in 2014 with one of the brewing industry’s most prestigious awards-World Beer Cup Champion Brewery and Brewmaster for a Mid-size Brewing Company.
