Bold Rock Hard Cider Announces Return of Blood Orange Seasonal

NELLYSFORD, VA — Bold Rock Hard Cider has announced the return of its popular fall seasonal Bold Rock Blood Orange. Available on shelves in September, Blood Orange blends the crisp taste of hand-picked Blue Ridge Mountain apples with a burst of refreshing citrus from fresh blood orange juice. Bold Rock’s award-winning craft cider is now distributed in 10 states in the Mid Atlantic Region.

Bold Rock Blood Orange is full of light and refreshing flavors, featuring a sublime union of apples and oranges that rolls around the tongue with bright effervescence. Tart blood orange juice adds a refreshing bite to Bold Rock’s locally sourced apples, while also giving the cider its unique color. The unfiltered combination of fresh-pressed apples and fresh-squeezed blood orange juice gives the cider a hazy orange appearance with some natural fruit sediment that adds to the flavor. Blood Orange also has a smooth dry finish that makes it reminiscent of a mimosa while also maintaining its identity as a cider.

Founded in 2012 as a small operation and now the third largest hard cider company in the U.S., Bold Rock produces 12 styles of hard cider, including the popular originals Apple and Draft, a rotating mix of seasonals, and IPA (India Pressed Apple), the best-selling hopped cider in the country.

The return of Blood Orange will be celebrated with a special release on September 9 at Bold Rock’s original Cider Barn in Nellysford, an innovative, state-of-the-art production facility and tasting room overlooking Central Virginia’s Rockfish River Valley. The release will be a part of Old Cars and Stars, an event that will feature regional car clubs showcasing classic cars and a drive-in-style screening of the film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial at dusk. The event will also have food being offered by Moe’s food truck and live music from the Cross-Eyed Cats Band.
