LINCOLNWOOD, Ill. — Louis Glunz Beer, Inc., the largest craft and specialty import beer distributor in the Chicagoland area is thrilled to welcome another exceptional Midwestern brewery to their family. Furthermore Brewing Company, located in Spring Green, WI, is brewing up unique beers that are now available to Chicago brew enthusiasts through Louis Glunz Beer, Inc.
The family-owned company will introduce two stellar Furthermore beers to Chicagoans this month with the arrival of Knot Stock and Fatty Boomblatty, followed soon after by the addition of Make Weight.
“Furthermore Beer is very excited to be jumping on board with Louis Glunz and entering the Chicago Market,” says Joe Collins, Brewery Representative at Furthermore. “We have had great feedback for years from the people crossing the border to get their Knot Stock fix or replenishing their Fatty Boombalatty stash. Now that we are on board with Louis Glunz, it’s our turn to make the drive. If anyone has any mixtapes they want to send our way, it would make the trip all that much more enjoyable.
Knot Stock (5.5% ABV): The collision of fresh cracked pepper and Northern Brewer Hops in this American pale ale create an impressively satisfying flavor. Boasting 65 IBUs (bitterness units), the beer has a surprising zing without overpowering the hints of black pepper as they kick in. A healthy dose of caramel malt softens the pepper and adds to the beer’s rich, creamy mouth feel.
Fatty Boomblatty (7.2% ABV): This Belgian Style Golden Ale began as a recipe for a white beer, but was quickly amped up by a 50% raise in the grain bill, with a 75% drop in the amount of wheat to keep the beer a little rough around the edges. The bitterness of the beer resembles pale ale, and the hops are coupled with coriander during fermentation. The result is a beer with a great Belgian flavor and a crisp sip to cut through the sweetness.
MakeWeight (8.5% ABV): Coming soon, this triple pale ale is a daring mix of three regionally distinctive recipes. To begin, Esters from a dominant Flanders yeast are reigned-in by cleaner American and London strains. The Kent Golding hops provide mild bitterness, giving the English and Belgian specialty malts room to breathe. Finished off with Oregonian hops, this unusual beer has a fragrant nose and complex flavor.
