Bantam Cider Company Launches Wunderkind

CAMBRIDGE, MA. — Bantam Cider Company (“Bantam”) proudly announces its entry into the market with a unique, new hard cider product designed to challenge preconceived ideas about what cider is, while making use of local fruit and high quality, natural ingredients.

Bantam fills a gap between wine and artisanal beers and offers discerning drinkers an interesting and truly satisfying premium quality beverage.

Wunderkind, the first product of the Bantam Cider Company, has been enthusiastically received by beer, wine and cider drinkers alike.

Wunderkind transcends the flavor and appeal of a typical cider. Billed as a Modern American Cider, the flagship product combines the elegance of a sparkling wine yeast with a select blend of local apples and a touch of honey to create an intriguing aroma and a crisp, clean and well-balanced flavor. The result is a natural, high quality crafted beverage that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with cheese, seafood, white meats and spicy foods.

The launch of Bantam is the culmination of a collaborative effort by founders Michelle da Silva and Dana Masterpolo to discover what cider could truly be. The team worked with orchards in Western, Massachusetts to understand harvest conditions and availability of apple varieties.

With a focus on making use of abundant local fruit, da Silva and Masterpolo began a lengthy cider development phase that included experimentation with numerous apple blends, yeast strains, spices and honeys, resulting in the end product of Wunderkind.

“Bantam represents a shared passion for what we believe and know cider can be. Apples are an amazing and versatile fruit that can offer inspiring and distinctive flavors. Our mission was to maximize this potential and combine it with a new sophistication and flavor complexity that was absent in the cider market.” Wunderkind is a one of a kind all-natural cider that gives a wide range of consumers a new crisp, delicate cider that can be enjoyed year-round.
