Jolly Pumpkin Releases iO Saison

Jolly PumpkinDEXTER, MI – Jolly Pumpkin has announced the release of its newest beer to join the Baudelaire Series. iO Saison will be released in 750ml bottles and check in at 6.8% ABV. Only 850 cases of the beer were made so head Brewer Ron Jeffries advises consumers get their hands on it quick!

"It may stick around on the shelves for a little bit, but there really is not that much of it," he said.

Jeffries said the largest amount is being shipped to Southern California this week.

First introduced in 2010, iO Saison (previously titled Eyo), received rave reviews amongst consumers. It is brewed with rose hips, rose petals and hibiscus and will be available nationwide to select wholesalers.

"It's really an interesting beer and one that is probably unlike any consumers have ever had," said Jeffries. "All the flavors work together really well and give it this unique reddish hue that connects the beer, the label and the story," he added.

The series is created in the spirit of French poet Charles Pierre Baudelaire. The series was conceived by Jolly Pumpkin's label artist, Adam Forman.

Typically after creating an idea for a beer and the recipe, Jeffries will contact Forman and have him create artwork. For this particular project, the Baudelaire series, Forman created the artwork and Jeffries used that as inspiration for the recipes.

"The beer is really designed because of the story behind the label, which is not yet written but has been discussed by Adam and myself in vague detail," said Jeffries.
