Brooklyn Duane Reade integrates beer bar

Brooklyn, NY- The next time you make your drugstore shopping list, don't forget to add 'growler' to the list.

A local Duane Reade corner store located at Bedford Avenue in the Williamsburg neighborhood has begun serving up fine craft beers for its shoppers. This particular store isn't serving up pints however, they have skipped straight to 64oz growlers.

The conventional growler, made of glass, is estimated to have stopped 1 billion cans and bottles from going into the trash each year. In the 1930's, growlers resembled more of a metal pail that customers of the local tavern could fill up and bring home. Today's growler is sealed and made of glass, insuring better health standards and transport ability.
