Clown Shoes Beer now available in Rhode Island

(Lexington, MA) – Clown Shoes, the creators of adventurous and uniquely styled beer, recently partnered with Craft Brewers Guild Rhode Island on an expansion into the Ocean State. This marks the first time in Clown Shoes’ short history that it will sell its popular beers outside of Massachusetts. The company has reached an agreement for an initial shipment of its popular 22 oz “bomber” bottles to be sold in the state.

Clown Shoes creates a wide variety of artisan brews that have received rave reviews from both casual drinkers and beer enthusiasts. Hoppy Feet, the company’s initial offering and flagship beer, is currently the #7 ranked Black IPA in the country based on reviews from the fan site Beer Advocate. Brown Angel, an American Brown, has been praised for pushing the envelope on a historically monotonous style. Three varieties of American and English hops harmonize perfectly with over 1500 lbs of Maris Otter malt to make a uniquely balanced brown ale. Clementine, the brand’s Belgian-style wit, is no stranger to outstanding reviews. The beer was a top seller through the summer and will continue to make waves as the weather turns cooler. The brand’s newest offering is an Imperial Amber dubbed Eagle Claw Fist. At over 100 IBU’s, the beer has again set the bar high as Clown Shoes moves forward to prove itself as one of New England’s up-and-coming brands to keep an eye on.

Clown Shoes is very excited to be represented in Rhode Island by a distributor with the history and portfolio of which Craft Brewers Guild Rhode Island has. Gregg Berman, founder of Clown Shoes, had this to say: “I’m very excited to work with a company like Craft Brewer’s Guild Rhode Island. They have a track record of success when it comes to their knowledge of beer and sell to the best accounts in the areas in which they work.” All four Clown Shoes brews will be available in the state, as well as at the annual Beervana Festival held in Providence on Friday October 8th.

About Clown Shoes:

Clown Shoes? Long story, but be sure that anything bearing the goofy name and logo will be an amazing sensory experience unmatched by few. The brand was founded in December 2009 as one of those “lets see what we can do” type projects. What we did was created a brand that strives to recognize under-represented styles of beer in the market by adding our own little creative twists. Consumers have caught on and are giving all four beers amazing reviews. Clown Shoes is distributed throughout Massachusetts by Arborway Imports and can now be found in Rhode Island in cooperation with Craft Brewers Guild. The company can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.

About Craft Brewers Guild Rhode Island:

Although Craft Beer Guild Distributing of Rhode Island (CBGDRI) is brand new to the Ocean State, our parent company, L. Knife & Son, has been in business since the turn of the twentieth century. Luigi Cortelli founded the company in 1898. His son Domero established a distribution agreement with Anheuser-Busch in 1934 following the repeal of Prohibition. After Domero’s death in 1963, his son-in-law, Gerald Sheehan, bought the business and has been its president since. The company, which is now four generations strong in family ownership and operation, has grown to include an importing company, and ten distribution operations providing statewide coverage in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Wisconsin, New Hampshire and now Rhode Island.
