Funky Buddha Brewery, located in Oakland Park, Florida, is seeking a full-time Packaging and Production Manager to join its growing team. Established in 2010 at its Boca Raton brewpub, Funky Buddha is known for pushing the boundaries of traditional brewing methods with culinary-inspired recipes utilizing all-natural, food-centric ingredients. Some of its best-known beers include flagships Hop Gun IPA and Floridian Hefeweizen, Maple Bacon Coffee Porter, No Crusts Peanut Butter and Jelly Brown Ale, and Last Snow Coffee Porter.
Funky Buddha’s production brewery - opened in June 2013 - features a 30bbl, four vessel brewhouse and is currently annualizing over 35,000 bbls in sales, with projections to grow to over 45,000 bbls by the end of 2016. Production includes draught and bottled beer distributed throughout the state of Florida. This fast growing company is the first production brewery in the greater Fort Lauderdale area and the largest brewery in South Florida, and is positioned for rapid expansion over the next few years.

The Packaging and Production Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of production and distribution warehouse facilities to ensure metrics are maintained or exceeded to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. This position will collaborate with Head Brewer, General Manager, Brewery Operations Manager and Brand Director to ensure our product meets market demand and scheduling timetables.
Manage daily packaging operations.
Running all equipment on an automated bottling line and manage operation of the manual (and future automated) kegging system.
Solicit, hire, train, schedule, and manage packaging, warehouse and maintenance personnel
Develop, execute, and hold staff accountable to Standard Operating Procedures for their respective departments
Communicate with brewmaster, head brewer and inventory manager about managing labor needs in other operations.
Schedule and manage preventive maintenance in conjunction with operations.
Ensure a clean and sanitary work environment
Ensure all process documents are complete. Must be computer literate and be able to function in SAP/Excel/Ekos environments.
Ensure compliance with SOP’s and update as needed
Manage all warehouse activities ensuring operational goals are achieved by determined deadlines.
Effectively manage packaging and warehouse employees, focusing on retention and skill development.
Promote a “Zero Harm” work environment through adherence to OSHA, DOT HAZMAT and HACCP regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
Manage site inventory control processes; ensuring compliance with internal SOPs and best practices.
Process orders accurately and in a timely manner according to SOPs and customer requirements.
Oversee daily production schedule in accordance with customer order demand and safety stock levels.
Facilitate and/or conduct all required employee training; including forklift and safety certification programs.
Assist in the development of budgets and ongoing review of trends & variances.
Completion of special projects as assigned by management.
Facilitate and/or conduct site tours for management, employees and customers.

Direct packaging management experience, including demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and mentor employees
- Experience running all equipment on a bottling line and managing the operation of a kegging system
Knowledge of and experience ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT HAZMAT and HACCP regulations
Demonstrated ability to manage production and distribution warehouse facilities
Exposure to high speed bagging lines or similar machinery
Material Handling experience
Warehouse Management System and/or Inventory Control software experience is preferred (Ekos preferred)
Proven ability to operate within budget guidelines
Experience facilitating effective employee training
Capacity to embrace and lead change in a constantly fluctuating business environment is essential
Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment, plus ability to exercise solid judgement and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines
Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate both verbal & written
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Must be forklift certified and able to operate forklift and other equipment as needed
Ability to comfortably lift and carry up to 55/lbs
Experience utilizing cycle count methodologies and performing full physical inventory counts preferred
Flexible schedule with the ability to work off hours, split, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts as required
Critical and analytical thinking skills and the ability to make high-level decisions based on available facts, brewing knowledge, and experience
- Knowledge of brewing industry standards and trends
