JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
 
We are now accepting resumes for a Senior Brewer position in our small production brewery. Our new Senior Brewer will be expected to contribute in all parts of production from handling and organizing raw ingredients, brewing, cellar work, yeast handling/mapping, separation, filtration, tank cleaning/sanitizing, inventory, and equipment repair/installation/upkeep. While working alongside the brew crew you will be leading the team through the shift, setting a strong example, training brewers, managing tasks, ensuring SOP’s are being followed, promoting safety, facilitating projects, and acting as a first responder in triaging problems.

The proper fit for this position is someone who is dedicated to the craft of brewing with a strong appreciation for good beer. He or she is an incredibly hard worker, capable of multi-tasking effectively, working quickly yet cleanly, and problem-solving creatively. This position is the right hand of the Head Brewer, and responsible for running and leading the production floor during the shift. It is imperative that this person has a combination of strong work ethic, excellent communication, leadership, management, andbrewing experience, brewing education, and strong beer knowledge.

 QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Ability to lift 55 lb bags of malt and 44 lb boxes of hops repeatedly
  • Safely operate a stand-up electric forklift
  • Comprehend and remember procedures
  • Self-motivate and maintain a fast pace of detailed, accurate work
  • Contribute to our obsessive cleanliness 
  • Brewing experience, formal brewing education, and previous management experience required
  • Solid references are a must
