Artisanal Brewing Ventures’ key brands are trending up as summer begins. Year-to-date through June 4, the craft brewery platform’s off-premise sales (+13.1%) are outpacing the beer category (+3.8%) and the craft segment (-1.4%), CEO John Coleman shared, citing data from market research firm Circana.

Regional cideries grew at more than triple the rate of the total cider segment at off-premise retailers in 2020, American Cider Association executive director Michelle McGrath shared during the trade organization’s annual CiderCon event earlier this year.

“Off-premise channels grew 9% for total cider — regional brands grew 33%,” she said. “Off-premise chains don’t capture all of our members, but they do provide a useful measuring stick.”

According to data from the firm, off-premise sales of hard cider were up 6 percent over the 52-week period ending on August 11. But if you look at the most recent 26-week period, also ending August 11, category-wide sales were up 13 percent.
